Mr. Sunil Godhwani, Chairman and Managing Director, Religare Enterprises Limited (REL), is the driving force behind the group and its vision. Sunil brings to the table strong leadership skills, vigor and a passion for excellence. He believes in nurturing a culture that is entrepreneurial, result oriented, customer focused and based on teamwork. He has given strategic direction to Religare’s growth since his joining in 2001 and has been a key force in giving birth to Religare’s current shape and form globally. Under his able leadership, REL is well poised to be a leading emerging markets financial services group. Prior to joining Religare, Sunil has had a diverse and wide-ranging experience of over two decades in managing large scale businesses. He also serves as Director on the Boards of various group companies like Dion Global Solutions (formerly Religare Technova Limited), Super Religare Laboratories Limited, Religare Macquarie Wealth Management Limited, AEGON Religare Life Insurance Company Limited, Religare Voyages Limited, Fortis Healthcare Limited and other subsidiaries/ Group companies of Religare.

A powerful orator and a great motivator, Sunil has been awarded with many awards and accolades. He is a recipient of the ‘India Business Leader of the Year’ award at the Global Indian Business Meeting, 2010 in Madrid, Spain and “CEO of the year Award” at CEO CLUBS INTERNATIONAL Awards.

Born in New Delhi, Sunil completed his schooling from the prestigious St. Columba’s School post which he went abroad to pursue his higher studies. He holds a B. Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering & Finance from Polytechnic Institute of New York. He loves Chinese food and is an avid sports enthusiast with interests in Cricket, Table Tennis and Golf.

Mr. Shachindra Nath (Group Chief Executive Officer) Religare Enterprises Ltd., carries the overall responsibility for leading all pivotal operations and businesses of the group. He has been associated with Religare since the year 2000 and has been instrumental in building various businesses under the Religare umbrella from scratch. His strategic agility coupled with a hands on approach has been a key to Religare’s growth and success over the years. With a career span of more than 20 years, Shachindra is a highly accomplished professional backed by an exemplary academic record. He is a University rank holder for his Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He also went on to pursue a Post Graduate diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from the Amity Law College, Delhi.
Prior to joining Religare; Shachindra has worked in the manufacturing and Financial services sector in various capacities. A great motivator and leader, when not at work he loves to read, contribute to columns, travel and spend time with his family.

Mr. Anil Saxena, Group Chief Finance Officer, Religare Enterprises Limited, plays a crucial role in supervising the operations of Group Treasury, Finance, Accounts and Risk function for the organization. He played a key role in the organization's journey integrating various acquisitions done during the course of its business. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and is with Religare since the past 10 years.

Mr. Ravi Mehrotra has over 25 years of experience in the Financial services domain both in India and internationally. Prior to joining Religare, Mr. Mehrotra was associated with PineBridge Investments (erstwhile AIG) where he was the Global Head of Retail & Intermediary Channels. His career span also includes assignments in India as the President of Franklin Templeton Asset Management, CIO of Kothari Pioneer, Executive Vice President & Co-founder of Prime Securities and Vice President of Bank of America in their Investment Banking & Treasury Group.

Ms. Kathryn Matthews has experience of almost three decades in the international financial services arena and has during this period held leadership positions in leading asset management firms globally. These positions have vested her with immense knowledge of the asset management business globally, a key focus area for Religare. Ms. Matthews started her career at Baring Asset Management. She spearheaded a global asset management business for Santander based in Boston. She moved to Axa Investment Managers as Head of their Global Institutional business and was a consultant to the asset management industry at William M Mercer briefly before joining Fidelity in 2003.

Mr. Stuart Pearce has experience of 35 years in International Financial Services business including Asset Management, Corporate Banking & Private Banking. Besides being a proven Chief Executive with prior Board experience, he is a seasoned professional with a successful track record in setting up new and restructuring existing businesses in ten different countries across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. In his last assignment, Mr. Pearce was Chief Executive Officer and Director General of the Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFC) and led the centre's transformation into a world-class financial centre.

Mr. Sabnani joined the Board of REL on April 9, 2007. Having received training in business from the Caritas Adult Education Centre, Hong Kong, Mr. Sabnani has been engaged in the business of export and import of goods and has more than 30 years of work experience.

Mr Padam Bahl joined the Board of REL on April 9, 2007. Mr. Padam Bahl has been practicing as a Chartered Accountant and an Income Tax Advisor since 1979 and has more than 27 years of work experience. He was the Chairman of the Northern India Regional Council, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Amritsar Branch for the year 1998-99. He was also a member of the Income Tax Advisory Committee, Amritsar Chapter during the years 2002-03 and 2003-04. Mr. Bahl holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Kurukshetra University and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has also received a Diploma in Information System Audit from SSI, Amritsar.

Mr. Balani joined the Board of REL on April 9, 2007. Mr. Balani is engaged in the business of export and import of white goods. Mr. Balani is currently associated with Atari S. L. and Time Concepts S.L. He has more than 39 years of work experience. Mr. J. W. Balani has undertaken studies at Broadhembury College, Somerset, U.K.

Ms. Naidoo joined the Board of REL on June 26, 2008. Ms. Naidoo specializes in orthodontics. She has been practicing in the UK for past 13 years. She has helped set up and run a reputable practice at Clapham, Bedford 7 years ago.

Mr. Shetty joined the Board of REL on April 9, 2007 as an alternate director to Mr. J. W. Balani. Mr. Shetty has received the National Productivity Award in the year 1992 and is presently the President of Karnataka State Hockey Association, Vice-President of Karnataka Olympic Association and Chairman of the Development Panel, Indian Hockey Federation and Confederation and has more than 31 years of work experience. Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Basaveshwara College, Bagalkot and has completed an Executive Development program from the Jamunalal Bajaj Institute of Management in Product Management Control and Financial Management.

Capt. Bhalla joined the Board of REL on April 9, 2007 as an alternate director to Mr. Deepak Ramchand Sabnani. He is a qualified master mariner certified by the Ministry of Transport, Government of India, New Delhi. Mr. Bhalla has more than 57 years of work experience. Mr. Bhalla has been successful in making the W. German Finance Minister accept guarantee by the Government of India instead of a guarantee by a commercial bank.
